Life begins in CR

Well I have got into the swing of things already. Life consists of Czech lessons (three times a week), study, food, conversation classes (with the lovely Czech family) and sleep. As I have said previously, the family is lovely. Petr, the father, is a real estate manager. Very nice man. We have had some good conversations. He wants to learn English and I want to learn Czech so we speak Czenglish together. Lida is a busy house-wife and awesome cook. She does a great job of caring for 5 children. It is little bit of survival of the fittest at times in the house amongst the children. The older one bullies the younger one. That being said they get on pretty well.

Petr, the son, caught a fish (ryba) on Sunday (Neděle). We ate it on Tuesday (Uterý), but, as I was warned, it had lots of bones! Apart from that it was very nice.

Yesterday (včero) I watched Honza and Vašek at some sort of fire training. They learnt (or in the case of Vašek, tried to learn) how do certain knots for a competition on Saturday (Sobota). Poor Vašek (6 - šest), he tried as hard as he could to tie the knots but was reduced to tears with the complexity of the task. He was consoled by being able to show a knot his mother tied.

Have bought a large Czech-English dictionary today. Very essential. Not sure tha I will carry it though. Probably use the one that Katka from All Saints got me.

Bye now (Na Shledanou).

Reading your latest post was like reading something from the Amplified Bible. In a year's time, we'll expect you to write in Czech and put the English words in parentheses. This is your real mission, James, should you choose to accept it. . .
