Chata and civic ceremony

Yesterday afternoon I went to the family chata for the a night. A chata is a small cottage that a lot of Czech families have for holidays and weekends. It can be quite basic, but my Czech family chata, though simple, is quite nicely done. It even has a shower (not all do). However you do have to go outside to go to the toilet. When I get the chance I will post a photo or two. The chata is right beside the river, so some of the boys, especially Petr, like fishing there.

Today I went to a civic ceremony in the local village hall for Vojtěch (7 months old). Every 7 months the village council has a ceremonny welcoming the new babies into the village. The village hall is surprisingly modern and plush. The ceremony included songs (I think) praising the mothers for all their hard work. Lida having had 5 children now (like my mum) deserves this praise I think!
