Altar boys

The family I live with (their surname is Patˇhovi) seem to be the pillars of the church. Every time we go at least one of the family is doing a reading (never the gospel reading, that is the priest's job) and three of the boys (Vojtěch is to young to do anything apart from eat!) serve as altar boys.

Honzo at church asked me if he could use my mobile to play a game while we were in church. I, in my halting and very limited Czech, said no because we are in church. He processed this for a while and then (dressed up in his robes) tried to tell me something. I couldn't quite understand, but he managed to lead me outside. "Can I play games now that we are outside the church", was the jist of what he said! I'm sure this could be the start of some great theological argument...

Vašek was either not there or mimicing the priest. Very cute and very naughty!

Hi James,
So cool to read such regular updates from you. We are impressed at how the language is coming. Great to see the family are welcoming and you're getting on well.
