River walking

On Sunday I went with the family walking on the river Malse (it has frozen over). I learnt one important lesson about getting onto the ice: look where you put your feet. I didn't and stepped into freezing but not frozen mud. Petr very kindly gave me one of the pairs of socks he was wearing so I didn't get too cold. The adults walked (and the children skated) along the river until we got to a part where it wasn't frozen. When I got into the car I found that the bottom of my jeans were frozen solid. Good fun.

Temperatures here are hovering around 8-10 degrees centigrade. I envy your colder climes! The only thing frozen around here are my Tesco low-fat oven chips.
