Foreign Police

The Foreign Police are not as bad as they used to be, but they are still somewhat stressful. Any foreigner in the Czech Republic has to register with these Police and inform them of any sort of change in circumstances. Last week some of our OM colleagues got fined for not declaring their changea in address.

Today I got fined 400 Czech Crowns for not telling them early enough that I had gotten married. Almut had told them last year that she had gotten married, but it didn't count for me. However they could have fined me 3,000 Czech Crowns...

We actually had to get our wedding certificate translated and signed by a lawyer for the foreign police. This cost 1,100 Czech Crowns all together. Getting married is expensive... but definately worth it!
