The adventures of James...

Coming to a cinema near you soon...

Today I went to hospital for a blood test. (Don't worry, I'm not ill). On the way I found a folder full of business documents someone had left at the bus stop. I decided that I would return it after the blood test.

The blood test was fun in itself. I do not like needles and frankly was putting off having the blood test. (I should have done this in 2005 before I moved to the Czech Republic, but was too nervous to do it). At the clinic they asked me where am I some from and I said Australia. This was the wrong answer, I should have said I was British (which I am). The staff in the office were confused about how they should charge me for the blood test. When I showed my British passport and EU health card this calmed them down. The blood test itself was fine, I shouldn't have worried. (My arm is a bit sore now, though). It was good that I did the test here. Its much cheaper here than England.

I then went looking for the office of the person who has lost the folder. I went into a newsagents, bought a bottle of water, dropped about 5 or 6 bottles on the floor, and then asked for directions. (The shop assistant didn't mind about the bottles; I think it happens a lot). The office was actually quite close to the newsagents so I walked. The office is in a big factory complex and so I had to wait at the security desk for the owner of the folder to come out. He was very pleased to get the folder and asked me what I would like in return. I didn't understand what he said at first but he fortunately spoke English. Well I didn't want anything, but he gave me a bottle of vodka, a lift to my office in his work car and said that we should go out some time for a drink. I think I will take him up on his offer sometime...

Hey James! that's is so cool that another door has opened up, just by returning someone's stuff. Definately take him up on going out for drinks. That's so sweet. It was a neat story to read. I pray that more opportunities would continue to arise for you. Blessings, Victoria F.
