Travel to Vodnany
Today I went to see one of the team in Vodnany. Frankly I have no idea where this is except slightly north. Got to the railway station and bought the ticket, then looked up at the departure board. I was horrified to see that it said "BUS". I already knew that I had to transfer once on the journey. I had no idea what to do or where to go so I asked at the counter in Czech. I got directed outside but, with 3 buses in front of the station, I didn't know which bus to get onto. I asked one of the drivers, still in Czech. He pointed out one of the station staff to ask. This man was quite helpful and told me where to go, but in English (after asking if I was German, we are very close to Austria and Germany). When I got to the next change point, Zliv (have a go pronoucing that!), I asked the train conductor if this train was going to Vodnany, she said yes (in English... sigh, it really is quite obvious that I am not a native speaker). Managed to get to Vodnany, albeit a little late. The railway staff had been very helpful.
Coming back was far easier!
