Americans on the train
Went with a friend down to Linz in Austria on Sunday. On the way back I met a couple of Americans, a father a daughter. The daughter is in her first year of university and is studying one semester in Prague. Her favourite director is Tim Burton (one of his movies was Edward Scissorhands).
The father works for the Department of Energy in Washington D.C. aiming to reduce the energy usage of the government. I assumed that he would be qualified as some sort of engineer or acountant. He actually studied English Literature instead. He was also a fan of the first series of Star Trek. He mentioned that he thought there would have been a colony on the moon if Kennedy hadn't been shot.
The mother wasn't there because she had just had her hip replaced...
