Snow snow and more snow

Well it has been snowing most of yesterday and all night. So today it was quite a challenge to get to the office in Ceske Budejovice. I live in in a small village, Besednice, in the hills some 30 - 40 minutes drive normally (the father of the family, Petr, has a work car). Today it took an hour and a half. Before we even started I helped clear the drive of about 30 - 40 cm of snow. That took us a good half an hour before we even left Besednice.

Just as we left Besednice we had to stop and help a motorist that had got stuck. Then we headed down towards Ceske Budejovice only to find more traffic than usual going the other way. The explanation was that there was fallen trees on the road. So we took an alternative route.

The alternative route was better, but we got stuck in a traffic jam caused (I think) by truck drivers stopping to put chains on the truck wheels. We got to Ceske Budejovice eventually.

Well the main point of coming into work early today was that I was going to go looking for an apartment with a real estate agent. Unfortunately my colleague had got the days confused. We are supposed to be looking tomorrow. Outside it is still snowing, perhaps even heavier...
