New Years eve
Well its coming to the end of an event filled year. Was a manager in Pecan, moved country and job, and am now learning a new language, Czech!
This week I have been a little ill with a cold (maybe because it is cold outside) but managed to go cross country skiing for the first time (great fun even if I don't know how to go down hill on skiis!) Today I have done some Czech study and cleared the drive way of snow (we have had a decent amount in the last few weeks).
At the end of the year it is perhaps time to take stock of where I am and where I want to be. You know, New Years resolutions and the like. I want to be effective in proclaiming Christ in CR, learn the Czech language well, get a car (well it would be nice - the public transport system works well but is limited), get a new apartment (will move out of the Czech family home in the next few months) and oh so much more.
None of these things are bad in themselves, but I read something that challenged me today. It basically reminded me that the most important thing of all is my relationship to God. Am I living for Him? Or am I living for other things? Well, we shall see in 2006!
May you know the blessings of knowing and living for God in this coming year!
