Honeymoon, Part 2

After our 2 weeks in Nelson, New Zealand Almut and I went to Wellington to see my family and friends. Most of my family hadn't been able to get to the wedding (too far, too expensive and too complicated!)

Almut had only met my parents in the week before the wedding so we spent a lot of time with family and my friends. Saw the graduation of a brother-in-law as a policeman. (Shame that he got bitten on the first day of work - by a woman - and had to be briefly admitted into hospital). Was really good to see them all. The weather wasn't great though. It was the wettest and coldest December on record. There was little difference in the weather between the Czech Republic and New Zealand...

After 4 weeks in Wellington we flew back to Prague. We got delayed in Sydney because the plane that we were supposed to fly was grounded with some sort of mechanical failure. This delay caused us delays in London as well, because we had to catch an afternoon rather than morning flight. Then when we arrived in Prague we couldn't get off the plane due to a bomb threat.

We eventually got back to Ceske Budejovice. Michal from OM Czech Republic picked us up from the airport, after a few text messages in New Zealand and London. We were very tired by the time we got to Prague so it was great to just fall asleep in the back of the car.
