Small success in language

HEALTH WARNING - the below contains icky medical terms...

Yesterday I got up the courage to go to the pharmicist for a couple of health issues. I had been putting off going for a while because I didn't think I would be able to say what I needed to.

So I went to the Lekárna/Chemist and said in Czech that I had two problems: warts and tinea on my feet. I was very pleased when she gave exactly what I needed and brands that I recognised.

I told a couple of my Czech friends of my success. Apparently, rather than saying I had warts and tinea on the soles of my feet, I said the warts and the tinea were on the floor. Oh well, I'm still learning....

I suppose when you're standing barefoot, they *are* on the floor. . .
